The Gettysburg Festival was conceived as a major effort to increase cultural tourism and arts education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Taking advantage of its regional location and historic strength, Gettysburg is an ideal location for a multi venue, interdisciplinary and diverse arts festival.

The Festival will:

• Increase and Diversify the Tourism Base
• Create Jobs
• Create small business opportunities through increased demand for local goods and services

Create Cultural and Arts Opportunities

• Development of international level arts facilities and events
• Expansion of services and amenities at a high-end level
• Define Gettysburg as a world-class arts destination as well as historic destination

Provide Cultural and Artistic Educational Opportunities

• Each performance or exhibit will have an educational component
• Special efforts will be made to draw young people to the events
• Young performers and artists will be an important part of the overall program
