Get a peek into to the topsy- turvey creative world of Gilbert, even before there was a partner, Sullivan. Engaged is a humorous farce with one character proclaiming his love for every female character in the cast. It is said that Engaged may have inspired Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.
This staged reading is being presented by the Victorian Lyric Opera Co. Founded in 1978, the company performs musical works of the Victorian period and draws its talent from the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Presented by The Gettysburg Festival in collaboration with the International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival
