A Hallowed Feast

A Culinary Union of the North and South

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Gettysburg Festival’s Artistic Director for Culinary Events, former White House Chef Walter Scheib, has a vision for this event as a huge family-style, farm-to-table Sunday supper.   Entertainment will be provided by excellent Civil War period brass bands from both the North and South, who will perform period music in full uniform down to the Civil War–era buttons gleaming on their jackets. The premise behind this modern-day North-South celebration at Gettysburg is that all diners break bread and enjoy dinner together. The setting is atop a significant Battlefield site, picturesque Seminary Ridge, overlooking the town of Gettysburg on one side, and bordering beautiful rolling farmland and fields of the Gettysburg National Military Park on the other. The ambience is further enhanced by plein air (open air) landscape artists painting works of art before your eyes.

Entertainment will be provided by The 8th Georgia Regiment Band, The Newmont Military Band and The 26th Pennsylvania Emergency Militia Regiment.

Tickets to the Festival culinary events are available in limited quantity. Please note that tickets may not be available at the door; reservations are strongly suggested.

The Gettysburg Festival would like to thank catering partner, Biggerstaff's Catering.

Gold Friends of the Festival and Corporate Friends of the Festival:  Please note that you are entitled to a 15% discount on all 2010 culinary tickets.  If ordering your tickets online, please use your special code to enact the discount.
